Area Structure Plan

Bluerock’s Role: Policy planning; coordination of planning, mapping and engineering; lead policy writing; and graphic layout and design of ASP document.

Bluerock guided a consortium of private developpers to propose an innovative rural Area Structure Plan that provides opportunities for industrial development.

These lands were envisioned to become a part of the ‘Sunbelt’, an intermunicipal agricultural-industrial area, regional landmark, and a unique employment and business corridor in Rocky View County and Wheatland County. The significance of this area as a vital part of food security, research, and production is unmatched in the Calgary Region.

The project required collaboration between various stakeholders including Rockyview County, various landowners and investors, as well as consultants and engineers. The goal was to bring economic development to the region for many years to come.
