Starland Land Use BylawClient: Starland County Date: Adopted February 2024 Location: Starland County, Alberta Bluerock’s Role: Jonathan Schmidt was one of the lead authors for the Land Use Bylaw and assisted with community engagement. Bluerock in partnership with Palliser Regional Municipal Services led the creation of a new comprehensive land use (zoning) bylaw for the County that includes numerous improvements, such as the promotion of economic development through more business-friendly regulations and reduced red tape, an easy-to-navigate bylaw with new specific use and general regulations, and streamlined land use districts. Bluerock assisted with community engagement, Council and administration workshops, drafting of the land use regulations, and packaging together of the land use bylaw.
