Bluerock’s Role: Bluerock Planning provided policy writing, engagement support, and drone imagery to the project.

Bluerock Planning assisted Selkirk Planning & Design on a new and inspiring Official Community Plan (OCP). The new OCP provides an easy-to-read and understand plan that will facilitate the right type of development to create a thriving Village of Slocan.

The new OCP offers landowners new opportunities to develop their land, including up to four dwelling units on a typical residential parcel. Commercial opportunities are focused on the Village’s main street (Harold Street) to create a vibrant core.

The OCP was adopted by the Village of  Slocan Council on October 3, 2022. Implementation of the OCP includes changes to the Village’s Zoning Bylaw and a future master plan for the former mill site.
